The CCBCF is proud to provide supplemental funding of $15,000 to a research project lead by Dr. James Rutka and his team at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. The issue with DIPG and other brainstem tumors has been the ineffectiveness of drug delivery due to the blood brain barrier. Dr. Rutka and his team are exploring MRI guided focused ultrasound to transiently open the blood brain barrier and enable effective drug delivery. Learn more about this exciting project here:
